Because of the Big Snow, invitations went out late for the VeggieTales party this Saturday. So we are inviting as many people as we come in. Here's my line: Anyone who is reading this blog and has little guys is more than welcome to bring them in to Servant's Heart on Saturday. We have three parties going on, at 10:30, 12:30, and 2:30. We will be showing the new VeggieTales movie (Moe and the Big Exit, the story of Moses), then playing a game with the kids and eating hot dogs and chips. It will be fun. If you would like to come, call the store at 737-6944 and let us know which show you might come to, so we can get an idea of how many are coming.
Anyway, work was nice, just tiring. We had several Catholic guests come in because they saw my ad in the bulletins. Did I tell you about that? Probably not. A couple months ago, I had a great idea. Some of the local Catholic parishes have advertising space in their bulletins - a perfect opportunity for Servant's Heart. The prices are good for a whole year of advertising, and it's very targeted. I pitched it to Chuck and Vicky and they loved it. The 18th was the first Sunday the ad was run, and I have alrady had people come in with the ad clipped. We are advertised at St. Theresa's and at Good Shepherd.
This kind of advertising is important for the store, too, because Christian Publications (the previous owners) didn't carry Catholic product, beyond maybe 3 rosaries at a time and a Zondervan Women's Catholic Bible in the NRSV version. With all the Catholic shops going out of business around us, it only makes sense for our current owners to start to carry more of the product. Now we cary a respectable selection of Rosaries and rosary bracelets, medals, First Communion and Confirmation gifts, and real Catholic Bibles. I am proud of the store. People don't expect us to be knowledgable, but we are.
Sometimes. :)
Lisa, my manager at work, is so happy right now and its contagious. She is a darling girl and I love her like a sister. She is dating a young man at work. Their families are very close, and Brian is moving up in the store - a very good thing. I love them both very much, and seeing them happy together is giving me warm fuzzies.
The people who run the store are kind of like Beavers. They love hard, judge a lot, love some more, make mistakes hard, and forgive each other a lot. I think you know what I mean.
When I got home, Jon was over. He's a good friend to Lee, and the kids love him.
Lij and I played with his new Superman toy and my camera. :)
We are both pretty goofy.
Avon order came today. I bought a dress (yes, a dress. yes, I know...). It is so pretty and fits me well, but my hips stick out and it's yucky. I would like to get rid of that. As soon as the snow is gone, I am going to go for bike rides with the kids all the time - New Cumberland Public Library, here we come. With my bike, we can go ANYWHERE in New Cumberland. Actually, it's my goal to be able to ride to work, but I don't know if Lee will let me or not.
I got my hair done. It looks cute. :)
Well, I'm due for a bubble bath and an early sleep. (11pm, considered early to bed, early to rise in our family, lol)
Good night.

Cool about stocking Catholic stuff in the store. How sad that it was not there before. Why do you have three times for the vegetales party? Do you have that many people coming or do you just want less chaos?
I'm glad you like your work and your neighborhood. Can't wait to see your hair! I should get mine cut with a real style.
In answer to your questin, both. Last time we had 110 kids show up all at the same time and it was a little out of control. We managed it, but it was a little crazy.
