Breathing Easier

I am "showing" now. That is I am starting to look more like a pregnant woman than someone who is just a bit thick around the middle. That's fun.

And... I felt the baby move today. Yes, I'm sure.

Lee's little sister Amber came to visit me last week. Amber is crazy, but I love her, and I think she knows that. Amber loves the kids and always calls on their birthdays to wish them well. She has been somewhat ostracized from the whole family, and she really missed the kids. They weren't shy with her, so that was nice. The video is of her horsing around with them.

Classes are going all right. Education is going very well and Math is going well enough. I have already registered for next semester - hey, by the way, registration for next semester has now started as of this past Monday. For anypne who is interested in doing the HACC thing next semester, classes are first come first serve. I signed up for English Comp & Literature, Spanish 101 (that should be easy) and another Math course. I am trying to keep it fairly easy since I will be giving birth at the end of next semester and could potentially be doing exams and feeding a newborn at the same time. Yikes, too real.

The kids are great. They continue to amaze me every day. Elijah is learning about time right now. He's interested in time lines, to do lists, and telling time. He still likes words and letters, too. And he's also really into cleaning and "making things". Last week we made homemade toothpaste - 3 parts baking soda, 1 part salt, and enough vanilla or equivalent extract-type flavoring to make it into a paste. It sounds gross, and frankly it tastes gross, too, but it does really clean your teeth. Elijah loved making it, and he asked if we could make it again this week. So we did.

Olivia has the most amazing vocabulary for her age (she is three now, but we're having her Birthday pasrty this coming Sunday). She wants to do everything that everybody else is doing. She still doesn't play with toys just wants to be with us, snuggling, chatting, or horsing around. She also changes clothes about three times a day because she is so vain. I just love both of my kids.

Things are starting to pick up at work for the holidays. I worked my split shift today - got up, went to work. We had a call off today - one of the girls had a birth in the family - so the manager was covering her shift in the morning. I enjoy getting to work with Lisa on the floor. I felt really sick by lunchtime, though, and was glad to go home. I threw in a store-bought stromboli from Giant (BOGO this week) and had a good lunch with the kids while discussing the day's election with Lee. Then Lee went to work. The kids and I cleaned the house some, had baths, and wrote a letter to our sponsor child (well, Boo did, I'll have to interpret it tomorrow). AVON arrived. Then Lee got home after school and voting, then I went to vote. Then I went to work for the rest of the night. Came home. Elijah was out, but tucked Livvy into bed at her request (that's unusual). All in all, a nice day.

Rachel, how exciting to feel the baby move! :*)

I remember my grandma and I made homemade toothpaste when I was a kid-yech! But you're right, it does clean your teeth.
