The kids and I organized their room tonight, and we made a morning and evening chore chart. They are allowed to watch one cartoon while Lee and I are getting up and organized for our respective classes in the morning. Boo can read most of the words (by sounding out and context clues) and the pictures are for Liv. They picked each piece of clip-art, so they think it is a game :)
Lee has started ITT now. He's going to do well. He has a basic computing class (so easy), a Math class that he's already taken (perfect) and a Programming class, basically a beginners Visual Basic. It is challenging for him but he's excited about it - I can tell because he downloaded the free software and was showing off his newly-acquired skills. I am excited for and with him.
Boo is doing great in school! We are doing loosely struct math, reading, and handwriting. We are doing most or all of the work together.
Work is not bad, but Julius is not cooperating. He refuses to take a bottle. This is a little frustrating for Lee and Nan. We had to change a shift around so that I wouldn't be away from him so long at once. It means Nan is watching him once and Lee twice in a week, instead of vice versa. We feel more comfortable with that anyway. Nan hasn't completely recovered from the bout of pneumonia earlier this year. She is more tired than before. She'd probably kill me for saying that!
Lastly, I'd like to share my creative project for this week! I designed a t-shirt, just for fun. You can check it out at www.cafepress.com/realchange08 . Make sure to take a look at the back and zoom in - the shirt is a gentle parody of the election hype, meant to remind us who the real Hope for change is in our country. The black shirts don't have the back, which is sad because the back is the best part.

Rachel, what a great incentive the chore chart is and how fun that the kids think it's a game. :)
Love the t-shirt!
Wishing you and Lee much progress and fun during your new school year. :)
I remember when Wayne and I were working, going to school and had three little ones. It was a lot of hard work but I remember all the great conversations we had discussing topics from school.
Thank you for visiting 100 Days to Christmas and for placing our button on your blog! I hope to read about your Christmas planning success!!
