Previously I have gotten the family haves together for my kid's birthdays, but since the beginning of the pregnancy, such things have been too complicated for my socially challenged brain. So we had two birthdays for Julius. One with Nan and one with Nana. I kind of enjoyed that more, anyway. I may go back to the other way later but we'll see. Putting my feet up and watching a movie with my siblings felt really good. I just don't get to see my sisters enough.
Anyway, here are pictures from the birthday we had with Nan. The budget is really tight right now, but that didn't affect the party at all. I have been stockpiling presents for Julius for a few months, mostly from the thrift store. I felt really good about that. The things he got were very nice and in good shape.
Here is the cake I made. Actually, I dropped frosting and a mix at Nan's house Sunday, she baked the caked Monday morning and I frosted and decorated it Monday evening. Julius likes pawprints. He's a Blue's Clues fanatic.
Oh, that smile.
