This is my mother. It's not an exaggeration to say that aside from my husband, she is my best friend. I can tell her anything. She raised me up to love Jesus and do what is right. Now that I am old, she doesn't judge me for my mistakes and my personality flaws, and as a result, we have a lot of fun together. When I am upset, she helps me stay balanced and focused. When I might be wrong, she tells me nicely in a way that doesn't make me turn off. She laughs at me when I need it and with me all the time. We don't have all the same exact interests, but we overlap enough to enjoy each other's similarities and differences. We thrift shop together. We love our kids together. She makes quilts for all my babies. She buys me books that I don't have to pretend I like, because she knows me well enough to "get me". We can vent together without taking each other's stress too seriously.
My mom is not a perfect person. If she were, I probably would have a hrder time hanging out with her. But she is, without a doubt, the best mom in the entire world. Happy Mother's Day, Mommi. I wouldn't trade my mom for any other in the whole world.
