There are certain things that are just fun to collect. My thing right now is containers.
These cheesy ones cost me $1.50 for the set. I wanted them to help get my "project closet" corralled. The big containers are for sets of things. The shakers are for m homemade baby powder and Lee's different seasoning blends.
I turned them around and used a dry erase to mark what is in each one. Change the contents, change the markings. It washes right off.
The oils, for example, were just sitting loose in the closet. This will be much easier.
I have been collecting little tins to put my salves and rubs in, instead of using ugly butter tubs like last year. I wanted to collect pill boxes for lip balms, but haven't found many.
The top stoneware are vintage from 1970. I have seen them sell as is on Etsy just for the vintage awesomeness, but I am in love with them. I want to make something to put in them for gifts, like maybe lovely-smelling bath salts. The bottom two are mustard and cheese spread crocks, saved for salves or maybe to store lozenges.
The white is a beautiful liquor bottle. I boil-sterlized it, and when I make cough syrup in a week or two here, this beautiful bottle will hold it.
The green is just a pretty bottle. It needs a cork. It has Christmas present ideas.
I have a perfect lip gloss container. I keep looking for the perfect containers and now that you have explained the use for each I will be able to find them easier. One of these days we will hit the jackpot.
ReplyDeleteI still need one more shelf and then I will blog about my craft room.
What a great recycling idea! Years ago I used to make bath salts myself, but don't remember the recipe anymore.
